In 2014, the TruGreen brand took on a new brand promise and tagline, Live Life Outside. To kick off the new brand, we created a broadcast campaign called The Yardleys. As part of this rebrand, TruGreen began a partnership with the PGA as their Official Lawn Care partner. TruGreen asked us to create a broadcast commercial for the Yardleys campaign that leveraged theis sponsorship.
My team’s spot, “Commentary”, features famous PGA commentator Gary McCord as Mr. Yardley’s neighbor. Even though he is off the air, he can’t help but commentate on the world around him. McCord spies on Mr. Yardley’s face off with the family dog, with some fun golf puns thrown in the mix. I worked with a Sr. Copywriter and Digital Creative Director to concept and storyboard this spot and pitched it to the Executive Creative Director.
Another space we promoted the TruGreen + PGA partnership was in the print space.
The ads showcased here were designed for the PGA Championship's program. They both work to focus on the beauty of a life lived outdoors and play with terminology that mirrors both the golf course and your yard.
